The Cornwall Waterfront Farmers' Market will later announce the intake of vendors for the fall of 2022 and the winter of 2023.
How to become a vendor: The vendor intake is a two-step process. (Note below a different application process for buskers, artists, and community groups.)
Step one: Vendors apply once for eligibility, compliance with internal vendor and product policies, and submission to the Eastern Ontario Health Unit.
Step two: Once approved, vendors are required to register for the specific weeks that they want to attend and will be invoiced for the selected dates of attendance (see the fee structure below).
Buskers, artists, and community groups:
The Cornwall Waterfront Farmers' Market is happy to offer a free space and a marketing opportunity to artists, buskers, writers, facilitators, and folks who have activities to offer the community, but do not sell or charge a fee.
- As long as these participants are not selling anything, they are welcome to receive donations from visitors and there is no vendor fee to attend the market.
- All other policies apply.
- The one-time CWFM registration fee for the 2022 Winter-Spring season is $50 plus HST for in-person and virtual vendors. The CWFM will waive the $50 one-time registration for virtual vendors that participated in the CWFM 2021 summer market.
- The vendor fees for each 10x10 vendor space are:
- $390 for the season ($30 per week) + HST for full-time or nearly full-time attendance,
- $40 per week + HST for part-time or occasional attendance,
- no weekly fee for virtual vendors.
- The fees cover the costs for the rental cost for the space, the management of the market, marketing and materials. Vendors receive a complimentary membership and benefits in the Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network for 2022.
- A virtual vendor is an absent vendor, part of the vendor pool of the market but not in attendance. This is a great way for a vendor to develop visibility without having to staff a table every week. A virtual vendor takes orders online from customers and make arrangements for direct delivery to customers.
- Non-inspected kitchens can only sell at a farmers' market. Being an in-person or a virtual vendor at the CWFM gives the non-inspected kitchen a critical presence at a farmers' market.
- Virtual vendors are listing on the CWFM website along all other vendors with a link to their website for online purchases.
- Optionally, virtual vendors can also subscribe to the EOAN's e-market called the Local Food Portal using the Local Line e-commerce platform, The CWFM will have an e-market on the portal.
- Virtual vendors at the CWFM shall respect the vendor policies of the CWFM, notably no reselling.
- Kozroots Community Empowerment Projects will operate a common table for products and flyers from virtual vendors. The fee is a small percentage of sales to a maximum of $30 weekly, paid to KCEP. Please make arrangements with KCEP to deliver your material to the market (firstname.lastname@example.org).
- Applications are prioritized in the chronological order in which they are received by the CWFM's official vendor application process, which does not prioritize inquiries by other means such as telephone, email, text, and Facebook.
- Applications are assessed and then approved or not based on the CWFM criteria and policies.
- Artists, crafters, artisans that have things to sell are welcome to apply for the CWFM. There is limited space and the market must also meet the required ratio of 51% farmers.
- Vendors require and shall provide proof of commercial liability insurance.
- Inquire with your current insurance company to obtain commercial liability insurance.

If you purchase this insurance service from DUUO, please specify that the market name is the Cornwall Waterfront Farmers' Market at 1 Water Street, and the event hosts are the Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network and Kozroots Community Empowerment Projects. And also name the two hosts as co-insured on your policy.
- As a farmers' market, the CWFM needs at least 51% of the vendors to be genuine farmers selling their products. Priority is given in the following order: to farmers, non-farm food producers, non-food vendors, and community organizations.
- No resellers or franchisees. Vendors may only sell what they produce or make. This also applies to vendors with e-commerce platforms in that they cannot use the CWFM space as a pickup location for products that they resell online.
- Vendors shall respect Ontario and Canadian food regulations, for example not selling non-quota ungraded eggs, or dairy and meat products that do not come from a licensed facility.
- Vendors can sell farm products, prepared food made off-site, arts, and crafts. There shall be no preparation of food onsite for immediate consumption. Customers may take their purchase to the food court in the Cornwall Square for consumption.
- Vendors need to bring their own tables, table covers, chairs, signage, drinking water, sanitation water and all necessary materials. (See the Covid Protocol for set up requirements)
- Vendors are responsible to have all the manpower that they need to set up, serve customers, and tear down.
- There is electricity available at the market; vendors must make a written request or indicate the need on their registration form. No generators are allowed.
- Set up is between 2pm and 2.45 pm. There is no vendor entrance after this time. Tear-down occurs only after 6.30pm. The Cornwall Square closes at 7pm.
- Vendors may stop to unload and reload at the door that accesses the market space, in the lane between the mall and the parking garage, and park their car in the parking garage.
- It is imperative that the Market Manager is informed at least 24 hours in advance of a vendor being absent. This must be done by email and also by calling or texting 514-867-6222 A vendor who misses 3 market days without prior notice may be removed from participating in the CWFM. In case of an emergency, always call the market manager.
- Food vendors shall follow all relevent food satefy protocols. Find more information at the Eastern Ontario Health Unit.
- Vendors are required to pay their fees prior to attendance.
Public relations policy:
- The Cornwall Waterfront Farmers' Market is a safe, inclusive, and friendly place to gather and celebrate local food and community spirit.
- Vendors and their employees shall interact with the market manager, market staff, and volunteers in a cordial manner.
- Any issues can be brought to the market manager's attention by emailing email@example.com.

- Present and future vendors must produce your own COVID self-assessment online on the morning before going to market. If you do not clear the self-assessment, then please stay home.
